Your Volunteer Profile
Your volunteer profile showcases your contributions and helps other volunteers and team leaders learn about you. A complete profile builds trust and connection within the community.
Profile Elements
Display Name
Your name as it appears to other volunteers and on the leaderboard.
Username
A unique identifier used in your profile URL (e.g., /profile/your-username).
Avatar
Your profile picture displayed on your profile, comments, and the leaderboard.
Bio
A description of yourself, your skills, and why you volunteer.
Stats
Your points, completed tasks, and volunteer activity are displayed automatically.
Editing Your Profile
- Click on your email/name in the navigation bar
- Select "Profile Settings" or go to /settings/profile
- Update your information in the form
- Click "Save Changes" to apply updates
Writing a Great Bio
Include in your bio:
- Your background and what you do
- Why you're passionate about the July Charter
- Skills you bring to volunteering
- What type of tasks you enjoy
- Your goals as a volunteer
Uploading an Avatar
- Go to your profile settings
- Click on the avatar area or "Change Avatar"
- Select an image from your device
- The image will be cropped to a square
- Save your profile to apply the change
Tips: Use a clear photo of yourself or a professional image. Square images work best. Maximum file size is typically 2MB.
Viewing Your Public Profile
See how others view your profile:
- Go to your profile settings
- Click "View Public Profile"
- Or navigate directly to /profile/your-username
What Others See
Your public profile displays:
- Your display name and avatar
- Your bio
- Total points earned
- Number of tasks completed
- Teams you belong to
- When you joined as a volunteer
Note: Your email address is not publicly displayed.
Privacy Considerations
- Only share information you're comfortable making public
- You don't have to use your real name if you prefer anonymity
- Your email is never shown publicly
- You can update or remove information at any time
