Your Volunteer Profile

Your volunteer profile showcases your contributions and helps other volunteers and team leaders learn about you. A complete profile builds trust and connection within the community.

Profile Elements

Display Name

Your name as it appears to other volunteers and on the leaderboard.

Username

A unique identifier used in your profile URL (e.g., /profile/your-username).

Avatar

Your profile picture displayed on your profile, comments, and the leaderboard.

Bio

A description of yourself, your skills, and why you volunteer.

Stats

Your points, completed tasks, and volunteer activity are displayed automatically.

Editing Your Profile

  1. Click on your email/name in the navigation bar
  2. Select "Profile Settings" or go to /settings/profile
  3. Update your information in the form
  4. Click "Save Changes" to apply updates

Writing a Great Bio

Include in your bio:

  • Your background and what you do
  • Why you're passionate about the July Charter
  • Skills you bring to volunteering
  • What type of tasks you enjoy
  • Your goals as a volunteer

Uploading an Avatar

  1. Go to your profile settings
  2. Click on the avatar area or "Change Avatar"
  3. Select an image from your device
  4. The image will be cropped to a square
  5. Save your profile to apply the change

Tips: Use a clear photo of yourself or a professional image. Square images work best. Maximum file size is typically 2MB.

Viewing Your Public Profile

See how others view your profile:

  1. Go to your profile settings
  2. Click "View Public Profile"
  3. Or navigate directly to /profile/your-username

What Others See

Your public profile displays:

  • Your display name and avatar
  • Your bio
  • Total points earned
  • Number of tasks completed
  • Teams you belong to
  • When you joined as a volunteer

Note: Your email address is not publicly displayed.

Privacy Considerations

  • Only share information you're comfortable making public
  • You don't have to use your real name if you prefer anonymity
  • Your email is never shown publicly
  • You can update or remove information at any time
