Frequently Asked Questions
Find answers to the most common questions from our volunteers.
How long does it take to get approved as a volunteer?
Most applications are reviewed within 1-3 business days. You'll receive an email notification once a decision is made. If you haven't heard back after a week, please contact us.
Can I volunteer if I'm outside Bangladesh?
Absolutely! Many of our tasks can be completed remotely from anywhere in the world. We welcome volunteers from the global Bangladeshi diaspora and anyone who supports constitutional reform.
How many hours per week do I need to commit?
There's no minimum requirement! Volunteer as much or as little as your schedule allows. Even a few hours per month can make a difference. The key is consistency and quality, not quantity.
What if I claim a task but can't complete it?
Life happens! If you can't complete a task, release it as soon as possible so someone else can claim it. Go to your tasks, click on the task, and select "Release Task." There's no penalty for occasionally releasing tasks.
Why was my task rejected?
Tasks may be rejected if they don't meet the requirements or need revisions. You should receive feedback explaining why. Review the feedback, make corrections, and resubmit. Don't be discouraged - rejections help improve quality!
Can I be on multiple teams?
Yes, you can join multiple teams if your skills and interests span different areas. However, make sure you can manage the commitments. It's better to be highly effective on one team than spread too thin across many.
How can I become a team leader?
Team leaders are selected based on their contributions, reliability, and leadership skills. Continue being an excellent volunteer, and you may be considered for leadership roles as they become available. You can also express interest to an admin.
What skills do I need to volunteer?
We have tasks for all skill levels! Common helpful skills include writing, translation (English/Bengali), research, social media, design, and organization. But enthusiasm and commitment are the most important qualifications.
Can I suggest new tasks or projects?
Yes! We welcome ideas from volunteers. Share your suggestions with your team leader or contact an admin. Good ideas that align with our goals may be turned into new tasks or initiatives.
Is there a certificate for volunteering?
Currently, we don't provide formal certificates. However, your volunteer work is tracked in your profile, which you can reference. We may introduce recognition certificates in the future.
How do I take a break from volunteering?
Simply stop claiming new tasks. If you have active tasks, try to complete or release them. Let your team leader know if you'll be away for an extended period. There's no formal process needed, and you can return anytime!
What if I have a problem with another volunteer?
If you experience any issues, first try to resolve it directly and professionally. If that doesn't work, contact your team leader. For serious issues, you can reach out to an admin through the contact page.
